Australian National Training Series

An Australian first

Instructional design and project management for the Australian National Training Series. This project was the first Australia-wide trainer program provided by open-learning methodologies and included Mentored, On-the-job Management/Assessment processes. Externally assessed participants received certification endorsed by one of 65 TAFE and tertiary institutions around Australia. The project clients included users in New Zealand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Canada, Seychelles and the Caribbean. This project was funded by the Victorian Education Foundation.

The project created a number of videos (four per unit) and were all fully developed by tams working under project direction.

Westinghouse Brake and Signal – Designed and produced a company in-house video saving at least $10,000 in training costs per year and provided company ownership of safety issues.

Sinclair Knight Merz / Tenix Defence Systems – Collaborate with SMEs to design a series of educational packages developing complex decision-making skills in specialist competencies. Included a training needs audit, development of a specially-designed analysis and reporting database, designing learning strategies, development of computer-based instructional media and support to SMEs on presentation of technical documentation.
